Join us for an afternoon of celebrating local creative talent and the fall harvest as The Table at Brandywine hosts its kick-off event! We will share a farm-to-table lunch on the farmhouse lawn at Bethel Baptist Church in Wilmington, DE. We are excited to meet you, eat together, and hear your ideas for building a more vibrant community! We are thankful for a great team of creatives and volunteers that are giving their time to this new vision.

CHEF: Chris Montgomery (Philadelphia, PA)

Christopher Montgomery grew up in Wilmington, Delaware where his grandmother instilled a passion for food and gardening in him from a young age. In high school, his cooking teacher encouraged Chris to pursue food as a career. Professionally, Chris has built a wonderful repertoire, studying under such well known’s as Chef Michael O’Hare of Capers and Lemons, Sean McPaul of Talula’s Garden and Joshua Behm of Talula’s Table. Throughout his culinary journey, Chris insists that the beauty in choosing only the most seasonal and local ingredients delivers the best possible product to the table with out fail. When it comes to farm to table dining, Chris believes in the value of the intimate relationship built with farmers. This direct line of communication enables community needs and desires to be addressed and allows access to uncommon or rare produce that may not be found in grocery stores. Currently, Chris is working as sous chef to Brian Ricci at Kennett Restaurant in Philadelphia.

PHOTOGRAPHER: Kate Kelly (Lancaster, PA)

My name is Kate Kelly and I am a student of life and art. Beauty in all forms is of great interest to me and I intend to seek and pursue a life full of it. As a growing artist I believe that it is vital to be surrounded by a healthy community of artists and creative people who are committed to challenge and encourage one another. Through food, art, and human scale interaction in an intentional and intimate atmosphere I believe glory can be revealed and joy absorbed into the marrow of our bones as we pursue excellence in all things.

Painting and photography are my chosen media to explore and challenge myself and others. I am currently living and making art in Lancaster, PA at the Pennsylvania College of Art & Design. But you could also find me painting and photographing in woods and parks, living rooms and dining rooms, homes and fields in both Lancaster and Berks counties.
